Leslie Pickett Sheehan, a BV rated associate in the litigation department, practices primarily in the areas of domestic and family law,  medical malpractice defense, and construction law.

A native of Augusta, Georgia, Ms. Sheehan graduated from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts in 1991 with an A.B. degree in Theatre Arts and Religion.  At Mount Holyoke, Ms. Sheehan received the Genevieve Schmich Memorial Award as the senior lending the most distinction to the dramatic life of the college.  Upon graduation, Ms. Sheehan spent the next four years in Washington, D.C. serving as legislative assistant to Congressman D. Douglas Barnard, Jr. and Congressman C. Donald Johnson, Jr.

Ms. Sheehan received her J.D. in 1998 from the University of Georgia School of Law.  While attending UGA Law School, Ms. Sheehan was a member of the American Bar Association Mock Trial Team, The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Mock Trial Team, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Mock Trial Team.  She received the J. Ralph Beaird Award for Best Oralist, and was invited to be a member of the Order of the Barristers and a pupil in the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Sheehan moved to Savannah, Georgia and practiced plaintiffs’ personal injury and product liability law, concentrating primarily in the field of asbestos litigation.  Ms. Sheehan joined Oliver Maner LLP as an associate in 2002.

Ms. Sheehan was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in November, 1998, and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia.  Ms. Sheehan is a member of the American Bar Association, the Savannah Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.  She currently serves as a member of the St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital Institutional Review Board, and she is a graduate of the 2006 class of Leadership Savannah.  Ms. Sheehan is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence; serves on its Executive Board, and serves as chairman of the DSDI Scholarship Committee.
